Do you remember what happend Sept 11?

Where were you when the world stopped turning?
lyrics by Alan Jackson

Where were you when the world stopped
turning that September day
Out in the yard with your wife and children
Working on some stage in LA
Did you stand there in shock at the site of
That black smoke rising against that blue sky
Did you shout out in anger
In fear for your neighbor
Or did you just sit down and cry

Did you weep for the children
Who lost their dear loved ones
And pray for the ones who don't know
Did you rejoice for the people who walked from the rubble
And sob for the ones left below

Did you burst out in pride
For the red white and blue
The heroes who died just doing what they do
Did you look up to heaven for some kind of answer
And look at yourself to what really matters

I'm just a singer of simple songs
I'm not a real political man
I watch CNN but I'm not sure I can tell you
The difference in Iraq and Iran
But I know Jesus and I talk to God
And I remember this from when I was young
Faith hope and love are some good things he gave us
And the greatest is love

Where were you when the world stopped
turning that September day

Teaching a class full of innocent children
Driving down some cold interstate
Did you feel guilty cause you're a survivor
In a crowded room did you feel alone
Did you call up your mother and tell her you love her
Did you dust off that bible at home
Did you open your eyes and hope it never happened
Close your eyes and not go to sleep
Did you notice the sunset the first time in ages
Speak with some stranger on the street
Did you lay down at night and think of tomorrow
Go out and buy you a gun
Did you turn off that violent old movie you're watching
And turn on "I Love Lucy" reruns
Did you go to a church and hold hands with some stranger
Stand in line and give your own blood
Did you just stay home and cling tight to your family
Thank God you had somebody to love

I'm just a singer of simple songs
I'm not a real political man
I watch CNN but I'm not sure I can tell you
The difference in Iraq and Iran
But I know Jesus and I talk to God
And I remember this from when I was young
Faith hope and love are some good things he gave us
And the greatest is love

I'm not a real political man
I watch CNN but I'm not sure I can tell you
The difference in Iraq and Iran
But I know Jesus and I talk to God
And I remember this from when I was young
Faith hope and love are some good things he gave us
And the greatest is love

The greatest is love
The greatest is love

He Speaks to Me

He Speaks to Me

You are My child, I made you Mine,
I have blessed you, with love divine,
I keep you close to Me each day,
So you follow in My way.

I know each trial you will bear,
Fear not, dear child, for I am there-
The promise made that I do keep
To be the Shephered of My sheep.

I have so much joy and peace to give
To those who learn each day to live
Within the shadow of My love.
And seek their treasures from above.

Thank You, Lord

Thank You, Lord, for knowing me
As no one has before,
For all Your gifts, and even when
I sometimes ask for more.
Thank You, lord, for standing by
Though times be good or bad,
For never throwing up to me,
The chances I have had

Thank you, Lord, for picking up
The pieces when they fall,
For always being near enough
To hear me when I call
Thak You, Lord, for holding on
To me when I would go,
For finding deep within my soul,
The things that never show.

Thank You, Lord, for promises
You never fail to keep,
For counting every heaertbeat
When I lay me down to sleep.
Thank You, Lord, for mercy
And for wisdom You show.
For sometimes saying "Yes" to me,
...And sometimes saying "No."

Thank You, Lord, for patience
When I feel like giving up,
For adding honey to the dregs
I taste within my cup.
Thank You, Lord, for loving me
As no one ever can,
For wishing me an Angel,
But for seeing me...a woman.

Faith

Faith can move mountains,
No matter how steep,
And calm the rough waters,
No matter how deep.

Faith can change darkness
To heavenly light,
While leading us tranquilly
Out of the night.

All this I can grant, with
Assurance, you see,
For countless are the mountains
Faith has moved for me.

Just Kidding

Just kidding
written by Jennifer

I love to meet new people. I love to write poems. I love to write songs and sing them !!! I hope to acheive higher goals than what's expected of me. I love to teach whether my students like me to or not. I love to play music whether people listen or not. It's my strength when I am weak. If you haven't realized by now this poem is about me. That's why it wouldn't make sense. Just kidding.

I'm mostly a happy person. I love the computer, I love my internet friends and pray for them as well. Do you pray for me? If not, I would really like for you to, if you know the Lord. Have you visited my myspace page yet? The url is myspace.com/jennyfermarieknight. There you will find some music I hope you'll enjoy. If you don't, please keep your mouth shut. Just kidding...

I love for people to leave me nice comments and don't mind pictures as long as they're not too large. Please don't leave a comment if you have something bad to say, you can always block me or avoid linking to my site. I won't visit yours either. Just kidding.

Life is full of troubles and woes. But it's also filled with so many wonderful things!I'm sure you're getting bored of reading a poem about me,so I think that's enough for one day. Please come by and vist my website. I don't think you'll be disappointed. If you are, I hope you'll forgive me. Let me know if you like what you hear. And I'm not just kidding!!!

Hands Across The Sea

If we can clasp another's hand
Across the land and sea;
If we can lift some troubled soul
To God and set him free...

If we can rise above all creed
And know that God is Love,
If we can know that He is all
In Earth and Heaven above...

If we can dare confess our wrong,
Admit that he is right,
If we can walk the path of faith,
And radiate God's light...

If we cand do all this, my friend,
To bring His kingdom in,
Then let us clasp each other's hand
Right now, this day, begin!

The Buzzard, The Bat, And The Bumblebee

If you put a buzzard in a pen six or eight feet square and entirely open at the top, the bird in spite of his ability to fly will be an absolute prisoner. The reason is that a buzzard always begins a flight from the ground with a run as is its habit, it will not even attempt to fly, but will remain a prisoner for life in a small jail with no top. The ordinary bat that flies around at night, a remarkably nimble creature in the air, cannot take off from a level place. If it is placed on the floor or flat ground, all it can do is huffle about helplessly until it comes to a slight elevation from which it can throw itself into the air. Then, at once, it takes off like a flash. A bumblebee, if droppeed into an open tumbler, will be there until it dies, unless it is taken out. It never sees the means of escape at the top, but persists in trying to find some way out through the sides near the bottom. It will see a way where none exists, until it destroys itself. In many ways there are alot of people like that buzzard, the bat, and the bumblebee. they are struggling about with all their problems and frustrations, not realizing that the anwer is right the "above" them.

A Sweet Lesson In Humanity

Years ago, a 10 year old boy approached the counter of a soda shop and climbed on to the stool. "What does an ice cream sundae cost?" he asked the waitress. "Fifty cents," she answered. The youngster reached deep into his pockets and pulled out an assortment of change, counted it carefully as the waitress grew impatient. She had "bigger" customers to wait on.
"Well, how much would just plain ice cream be? the boy asked. The waitress responded with noticeable irritation in her voice, "Thiry-five cents." Again, the boy slowly counted his money. "May I have some plain ice cream in a dish then, please?" He gave the waitress the correct amount, and she brought him the ice cream. Later the waitress returened to clear the boy's dish, and when she picked it up, she felt a lump in her throat. There on the counter the boy had left two nickels and five pennies. She realized that he had enough money for the sundae, but sacrificed it so he could leaver her a tip. The Moral: Before passing judgement, first treat others with courtesy, dignity and respect.

Cheers!

Ever get discouraged in your daily living? Sing a song to God. Make a joyful noise! Read some scripture or pray with a friend. It's good to have a prayer partner. If you don't have one get one! A prayer partner is someone that is a Christian other than the preacher. It makes life go a little smoother. And another thing. Sing, make music unto the Lord. He will lift you up! I try to find friends at school that have a close relationship with God. It makes the day go by faster. Especially when you have a big test to take! Knowin that God will just be there for you makes all the difference in the world. Sure, people are going to think you're crazy if they think you're just talking to yourself. But what about those crazy cell phones that you wear on your ear...:*) The first time I saw someone have one of those, I thought they were in this deep conversation with themselves. Then I realized they were having a deep conversation. But with someone else. This day and time it doesn't seem to matter what you look like. So, go ahead, sing a song, talk to God in the store or mall. He he... they don't know the difference wheter your talking to God or an imaginary friend. I do it all the time. Cheers!
